There sure is some interesting architecture in Beijing.
This is a compound my friend Peter lives in and everytime I visit him the architecture strikes me. There are 5 towers all connected with skybridges that seem to be drawn by children with crayons. The other unique thing about adjective of such huge residential compounds is that they always have a theme. It seems that the real estate developers before talking to the architect decide that theme (just like in a theme park such as disney land) first.
This one is MOMA – and (can you guess?) – it´s theme is modern art and culture. The big structure in the middle is a art house movie theater, there are book stores and cafés and each tower has it´s unique collection of modern art in the lobby and on all floors.
Who can say they have a movie theater in their building? That is pretty cool I have to admit.
